Wedge anchor is heavy-duty concrete anchor designed for high load applications, such as handrail base, equipment support, stair bracket and heavy machinery fixing. It is a through-bolt type anchor.
Installers drill through the fixture and concrete together, then insert wedge anchor through the plate. Tightening the nut pulls the wedge cone upward, expanding the sleeve against concrete hole wall.
Hole quality is critical. Dust and debris must be fully cleaned. Improper hole depth or incomplete cleaning will significantly reduce ultimate pull-out load. Wedge anchors can only be used in solid concrete, not suitable for hollow masonry.
