Self cutting screws, also known as masonry self-cutting screws, can directly cut threads into concrete, brick and block without plastic wall plugs. It greatly speeds up installation for door, window and ceiling jobs.
The special hardened thread design cuts and forms threads inside pre-drilled holes. After tightening, the screw thread locks tightly with masonry substrate. Compared with traditional expansion plugs, self cutting screws save spare parts and reduce hole cleaning work.
This screw requires correct pre-drilled hole size. Too large hole reduces holding force; too small hole leads to screw breakage during tightening. It is widely used for fixing window frames, door frames and ceiling hangers on concrete walls.
