Drop-in anchor is a type of internal thread concrete anchor, widely used for solid concrete fixing projects. It belongs to the female anchor family and does not protrude threads after installation, which makes it ideal for ceiling suspension, pipe support brackets and mechanical equipment mounting.
To install a drop-in anchor, workers drill a hole of specified diameter and depth into concrete, clear dust completely, then hammer the anchor into the hole until it is flush with the surface. When the bolt is screwed in, the internal sleeve expands and presses tightly against the concrete wall to create strong holding force.
This anchor only works in solid concrete, not suitable for hollow blocks or brickwork. Many ceiling and MEP contractors choose drop-in anchors because of neat finished surface and stable load performance. Before use, you need to confirm concrete strength and design load to avoid safety risks.
